The 800-foot course, which features inclines and declines, is best enjoyed while the ship is docked, as you get amazing views of the ports you visit. (That works out perfectly, as lines for the attraction grow long on sea days.) SkyRide features two tracks, so you can race your friends. During the day, the Limelight Lounge hosts talks and seminars. But things really get going at night, when it hosts comedians as part of the Punchliner Comedy Club. Earlier shows tend to be family friendly, but later shows are definitely for adults.

It may sound fantastical, but the virtual tour will give you a sneak peek of what it will feel like to fly high above deck. Often cruise lines offer special rates that cannot be displayed to the general public. By registering with Cruise.com you will be able to view these special rates and offers. So you're in the mood for some good eats, but you’d rather stay in your comfy, cozy stateroom?

When you book with one of our partners, please be sure to check their site for a full disclosure of all applicable fees as required by the U.S. SkyRide is a bit like riding a bike — you’ll never forget it. But SkyRide is also completely unlike riding a bike, because when was the last time you biked around a ship, high above the deck and even higher above the sparkling blue sea? Zip safely around our two-lane suspended course in a pedal-powered go-mobile, in search of your biggest racing victory, a lower-body workout… or simply the greatest view.

For our cruise, we chose to stay in an interior cabin on the 7th deck. (Read a full review of the cabin here.) As for our cabin, we found it to be basic but extremely small. While we didn’t measure the square footage, it felt smaller than interior cabins we’ve had on other ships. There is no couch, but only a small desk with a pull-out stool. Due to the size, we would not recommend fitting more than two adults in one of these rooms. If you’re looking to sail on the Horizon, there is no shortage of room options.

By gross tonnage/volume, VISTA-class are currently the largest Carnival ships. Carnival Horizon passengers tend to be a fun-loving group hailing from all over the world -- but especially the United States. The ship's multiple cabin options and myriad activities appeal to families, and you'll see all kinds of kids onboard especially during the summer and over the holidays. Couples across all age ranges are common, as are large groups sailing together. On Carnival Horizon there is a special section at the back of the ship called the Havana Experience. This includes a number of staterooms with a different style and design than the rest of the ship, an exclusive outdoor area with pool and hot tubs, and the Havana Bar on deck 5.

With a variety of tempting, handcrafted shakes and indulgent floats, Shake Spot is your cool spot for something sweet. Paradise will be yours during the day at Carnival Horizon's peaceful retreat — a special bar and pool, which transforms to a hot dance spot when the sun goes down. Sip on specially handcrafted cocktails and enjoy the relaxing ambiance.

The following tables show the ship's Inaugural cruise itineraries (maiden voyages) by destination. The itinerary information includes ports of call (as sequences and port times) and prices per person (in USD, double-occupancy rates on lowest category Inside cabins). Restaurant and cabin crew members were terrifically friendly and efficient, while bar service ranged from slow to apathetic. We had long wait times poolside for service, and visited bars listed in the daily schedule as "open" only to find they were closed. You can open up a new chapter in your life by bringing the whole family along on a cruise ship that’s radically new – Carnival Horizon®. If your family is in or near Miami, you are just a few boarding passes away from a Caribbean cruise vacation on a ship from the future.

And while we can't promise, you just might catch a living, swimming marine biology lesson from your railing! This stateroom features a unique nautical decor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. The whole family will enjoy access to the Family Harbor Lounge and perks around the ship. Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Horizon, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis.
(Look at your Fun Times cruise daily to make sure you're not taking the kids to an adult show.) The Limelight Lounge is a large space with lots of seating in deep red armchairs facing a stage. If you don't want to get stuck behind one, get to the show early. First things first, there are a number of things for passengers to occupy their time that are now commonplace on cruises. As with pretty much every cruise ship built today, there is a spa, waterslides (geared toward kids), casino, two pools (and a third if you count the Havana pool), multiple whirlpools, and mini-golf. As well, there is outdoor exercise equipment, a full-length basketball court, and a number of games like ping-pong and foosball.
The Horizon measures more than 1,050 feet and carries nearly 4,000 guests on board. A total of 15 decks means there is a lot of space for amenities and features, ranging from the classic casino all the way to the pools on the lido deck. They’ll love The Chef’s Table—the perfect spot for an intimate chef-guided, multi-course meal. Two restaurants we’re especially excited about are brand new on Carnival Horizon—Bonsai Teppanyaki and the world’s first Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse.
Carnival Horizon sailings of two to five nights have one cruise elegant evening; sailings of six nights or longer have two. Among the most fun things to do on Carnival Horizon are the SkyRide capsule ride, Dr. Seuss’ WaterWorks waterpark, the IMAX movies, and SportSquare, with mini-golf and other family-friendly sports options. Those looking for some peace and quiet will prefer the adult-only Serenity Deck, complete with whirlpools and a bar.

Under the Seuss at Sea programming, there's also a fantastical Dr. Seuss Bookville onboard Carnival Horizon, located on Deck 11, midship. Bookville is packed with multiple copies of every title from Dr. Seuss, and it's decorated with bright colors and large murals of the author's most-famous characters. Seating is on chairs and beanbags and ottomans of every size and shape. It's not uncommon to find parents reading to their children from The Lorax or Fox in Socks, here, or during hosted story time. Carnival Horizon has enough recreation options to keep you busy for weeks -- or at least a weeklong cruise. The ship's splashiest option is the SkyRide, essentially an open-air capsule you pedal around a suspension track on Deck 14\.
